SS 2009 – January 5 Board Meeting
On Monday, January 5, 2009 at 6:30 pm at the Kimball Junction Library, the new board will be holding their first board Meeting and the Election of the board officers (see Bylaws Article VIII Section 2)
The Board of Trustees is comprised of seven members.
Officers are President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer.
Other positions are:
Architecture Rules Committee Chair
Compliance Committee Chair
Communications
The ARC Committee and the Compliance Committee consist of the volunteer members. They are Tony Molchan 604-0591, Mark Raming 655-2779, Chris Keeler 649-2445, Clay Archer 649-4663, and Kyle Yelderman 655-3371. The Board of Trustees is very lucky to have these upstanding individuals ready to assist the chairs of these committees.
The next October election in 2009 will need to replace 4 one-term trustees (unless other trustees resign or are removed from office). Because of the unusual nature of the last couple boards, a full seven member board was elected in 2008. It is important to keep record of which trustees are serving for one-year terms (voluntarily or by drawing straws). Though board officers are usually elected to two-year terms, in this “beginning board” situation if a one-year trustee is elected as an officer, that office is held for one year. Annual elections therefore will alternate installation of 4 trustees one year, and 3 trustees the next year, etc.
At the October 2009 Association Meeting and Election four trustees will be elected (or some re-elected) for a two year term. Three trustees will continue to serve a second year.
Then in October 2010 three trustees will be elected for two-year terms and our Board will be back on track as stated in our Bylaws Article IV Section 2. Term of Office.
OTHER AGENDA POSSIBLE ITEMS
1). Reduction of inflated MA dues allocation. Two proposals provided showed that the MA dues are $79 to $100. per year per unit over what the annual MA expenses are on their budget.
2) Look into protection of trees from drought and summer heatl
3). Look into solar projects and neighborhood wind power potential. Streetlights and mailbox lights could potentially be powered by solar energy.
