  • 2012 Oct 2 SSSFHOA Annual Election & Meeting

This meeting did not produce a quorum of property owners. The replacement meeting for a second attempt is scheduled for October 30, 2012 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church at 7 p.m.

The SSSFHOA Bylaws were modified on October 12, 2010 as follows: “Article III, Section 2, Annual Meeting, Line 2: The annual meeting date will be held on the second Tuesday in October.” The second Tuesday of October 2012 is October 9th, however, the current board has chosen to hold the annual meeting on the first Tuesday of October. Here is their letter:

Trustees retiring on Oct. 2, 2012 are Tracey Douthett, Jim Harsch, Ed Cody, Richard Krebs.

2012 Sept 21 Board Proxy to Owners

    ________________________________________________________________________________

It appears the Nomination form and process, and the Election Ballot, are being combined into the above Proxy form.
“Proxies can be mailed or delivered by another member attending the annual meeting.”
Past experience shows that nominations made from the floor at the time of the Annual Meeting and election do not have an equal opportunity to be elected.
If a 50% quorum of members (89 or 90) do not submit their Proxy Ballot and/or attend the annual meeting then whatever number of proxies and members actually attending the replacement meeting (in the past as few as four people attended) they will constitute a quorum for elections and all other meeting business and association decisions.

Item 7.  I vote my board shall re-write all existing HOA doc Sections that allow the board to act without 50% majority vote of property owners, whether present or by proxy.
(Delete from current Bylaws “any number of”) 87% of Property Owner respondents voted in the affirmative.
